The Polwarth breed was developed in Australia as one quarter Lincoln and three quarters Merino, and this particular Polwarth was farmed on the Falkland Islands. With a staple length of between 4-7 inches and a fibre micron of 26-27 this is pleasing Polwarth is perfect for spinning or felting. If that wasn’t enough though, this top has been blended with both chestnut and driftwood coloured French Merino D’arles, making it extra bouncy and giving the fibre a delightful depth of colour!
Banana Split changes from a rich and bright yellow through to a light creamy yellow.

Each length of combed top is individually home dyed using an immersion dyeing technique with acid dyes. It is dyed so that one end gradually changes colour as you move to the other end. Ideally suitable for spinning your own yarn, felting, or knitting with giant needles!
